Description:

When monsters and dark magicks came back into the world it looked like Dave Hooper, aka 'Super Dave', might be our only hope. Thankfully not. Super Dave is dumpster fire of regret and disappointment for anyone who relies on him.
Colonel Ekaterina Varatchevsky of the Russian GRU doesn't want to rely on him. A deep cover agent operating in the US as Karen Warat, a successful New York art dealer, Karin is gifted with superpowers courtesy of killing a Threshrend Daemonum which attacks her gallery and eats rather a large number of Manhattan's 1%. Now she doesn't have to rely on Dave any more.
She has to target him.
This is her story. Not told by Dave. Because you can't trust that guy.

Review

Praise for Dave vs the Monsters.

"The set-up is impeccable: a killer hangover, a demonic ex-wife, an explosion ... And then the monsters." theatlantic.com

"... a rollicking adventure, humans versus monsters, technology versus magic, good versus evil, with a hero that might not be quite up to it." Sydney Morning Herald.

"Dave Vs. the Monsters: Emergence is an unflinching tale of axes and monsters who meet an entertaining yet bloody end at Dave's hands. Just think of Ash from the Evil Dead and you'll be along the right lines. I simply can't wait for the other book to come along." Fantasy Book Review.

"I loved this book!!! It is evil... evil and hilariously entertaining. Birmingham has someone managed to craft a tale that is not only morrish and addictive but also hilariously dark and offensive at the same time." Smashdragons.com

"perfect summer reading..." SFrevu.com

From the Author

Hi. Dave vs the Monsters is, of course, the story of Dave Hooper, who gives those damn monsters one hell of a versing. If you've read the second book in the series, however, you'll have met Karin Varatchensky, a Colonel of the Russian GRU, a deep cover intelligence operator, working in the US.

Like Dave, she is fated to kick a lot of monster butt. It's an open question whether she'll kick his as well. Soul Full of Guns tells Karin's origin story and reveals a few of her secrets.

It was huge fun to write. I hope you'll find it as much fun to read.
