House-sitting can be murder.
Candy shop owner, and amateur sleuth, Candice Rothburg, and her husband, Eli, are house sitting for her parents, who have sailed away on a tropical cruise. Unfortunately, nothing ever goes as planned in the neighboring small towns of Lake Marion and Maple Creek, Michigan, and the simple job of watching her parents’ house and dogs gets a lot more complicated when Candice comes home to a burglary gone wrong.

With a body on the floor, and a ransacked house, it’s up to Candice and Eli to figure out what the burglars wanted, why one of them is dead, and most importantly, whether or not they found what they were looking for. Candice’s biggest fear is that they might come back to finish the job. Can she find the culprits before they strike again, this time much too close for comfort?
