Jake Underwood is a private detective and has been since he left the police force. Being a chimera, a half blood fey, he has had many times to regret his unique heritage. Balancing his dual heritage is difficult, especially when the Fey reach into the mortal world and spread the chaos for which they are famous. In his view, nothing good ever comes the Court of Dawn and even less when the wind blows from the Court of Twilight. When a messenger from the Court of Dawn turns up in his office and reminds him that he “missed” his naming day ceremony, he knows that nothing good can come from it. Unfortunately, he is exactly right.
