As the kingdom of Camelot descends into complacency, an ambitiously sadistic madman known as Merodach advances his rogue armies, recruiting by the sword and threatening revolt. 18-year-old Princess Gabriella is the only one who understands the severity of the threat, but is powerless to convince her father or her brave commoner husband, Darrick. With defeat all but certain, Gabriella sets out on a final, desperate quest. Her plan: to confront and defeat the madman Merodach before his armies can destroy everything she loves. Alone and on foot, she must cross the haunted magical wasteland known as the Tempest Barrens, where she is beset by mutant beasts, capricious magical creatures, and even the walking dead. In the end, wounded and hopeless, Gabriella finally confronts her nemesis and learns his final, horrible secret: he is not alone, and the forces he has allied with are far more powerful than anyone could have imagined.
About the Author
George Norman Lippert made a name for himself by writing fan fiction. His first book, “James Potter and the Hall of Elders’ Crossing”, was written in a bout of Post-Potter Depression after the release of the final Harry Potter book. Released online, JPHEC garnered a surprisingly large worldwide readership and attracted the attention of both Warner Bros. and J. K. Rowling (this when both parties were asked by the media if they were secretly responsible for it.) The following sequels, “Gatekeepers Curse” and “Vault of Destinies”, were well-received and well-reviewed enough, earning well over a million total readers worldwide, that the author decided to try his hand at writing something entirely original. “The Riverhouse,” a historical ghost story, reached number two on the amazon best-sellers list. “Ruins of Camelot” is the hopeful beginning of a new fantasy series, which will soon continue with the adventures of Gabriella’s progeny as they face the scattered remnants of the vampyre army that haunt their world. For now, however, Lippert has promised a new James Potter sequel, tentatively titled “James Potter and the Morrigan Web”. George Norman Lippert currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife and two children.
