Fans of the X-Files and Twin Peaks will love acclaimed master of contemporary fantasy Tanya Huff’s twisted version of vampires, wizards, and TV terror.

Tony Foster, fledgling wizard and now trainee assistant director on Darkest Night —the syndicated vampire detective show—is hoping that they only supernatural events he’ll be caught up in are those in the script.

But that isn’t meant to be, for a demonic convergence is about to begin, creating weak spots through which lesser demons may enter the world. To complicate matters, Leah, the incredibly seductive stuntwoman who freelances for the show, is an immortal Demongate. Should Leah die, the Demongate will open and her sensual demon master will wreak havoc upon the unsuspecting human race.

Can Tony—with the help of Leah, Henry, a tabloid reporter, a Mountie, and the cast of Darkest Night —halt a demonic invasion and stave off the end of the world?

About the Author

Tanya Huff may have left Nova Scotia at three, and has lived most of her life since in Ontario, but she still considers herself a Maritimer. On the way to the idyllic rural existence she shares with her partner Fiona Patton, six cats, and a chihuahua, she acquired a degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson Polytechnic—an education she was happy to finally use while writing her recent Smoke novels. Of her previous twenty-three books, the five— Blood Price, Blood Trail, Blood Lines, Blood Pact, Blood Debt —featuring Henry Fitzroy, bastard son of Henry VIII, romance writer, and vampire are among the most popular.

This third novel in Tanya Huff's action-packed series features Tony Foster and the crew of "Darkest Night," a TV series about a vampire detective. This time they find themselves facing another supernatural menace, a Demonic Convergence. Tony-with the help of vampire Henry Fitzroy and Leah, a stuntwoman who is the last surviving priestess of a sex demon, plus a tabloid reporter and a Canadian Mountie-must keep the key to the convergence alive to prevent a demonic invasion so large scale that it could be the finale-for the whole world.

### From Publishers Weekly

Fans of *Buffy* and *The X-files* will cheer the latest exploits of Tony Foster, wizard-in-training, in the third novel of Huff's contemporary fantasy series (after 2005's *Smoke and Mirrors*). The cult vampire detective TV show for which Tony is now a trainee assistant director is filming in Vancouver—which is also the epicenter of an upcoming deadly Demonic Convergence, according to sexy stuntwoman Leah Burnett, who also happens to be the 3,500-year-old handmaiden and personal Demongate of Ryne Cyratane, "He Who Brings Desire and Destruction." Worse yet, Leah is vulnerable to demon attack, and if she dies, Ryne will be able to return and wreak havoc on Earth. Tony, who has a laptop loaded with spells left behind by Arra Pelindrake, his former wizard mentor, needs a crash course in high-power wizardry to save the world. This spinoff from Huff's popular Blood series stands alone as an entertaining supernatural adventure with plenty of sex, violence and sarcastic humor. *(June)*
